Bertani Secco Valpolicella Ripasso

Tasting Note:  Using Rondinella and Corvina grapes the wine is made in the Ripasso method and then aged for 24 months in Oak casks. The wine is a very deep garnet red colour with wonderful aromas of ripe cherry, spices and dried fruit that are accompanied with a ripe red berry fruit and walnut flavours that arise during the “Ripasso” process. The mouth is full and soft with a long finish.

Enjoy With:  Perfect with rich fall seasonal foods like Stews, Squash, Soups or try with a very Canadian Sheppard's Pie.

Terroir / Region:  Bertani is located in the hills of the Valpantena valley, in the districts of Quinto, Grezzana and Santa Maria in Stelle. A calcareous soil prevails in the eastern side, while in the western side the soil is argillaceous-calcareous, rich in iron.

Producer:  Bertani is a historic producer beginning in 1857 and shipments of Valpolicella Valpantena can be documented back to 1888. The Bertani Secco was one of the first wines in this dry style "Secco" and very quickly became an icon of Italian wines around the world. Bertani has almost a century of being served in the finest restaurants, hotels and cruise ships. Bertani was the choice of Royalty and still uses the royal Savoia crest. Bertani Secco is the perfect wine to enjoy for a wonderful fall dinner.
