2007 Allegrini Valpolicella
Tasting Note: This youthful, medium-bodied wine is brilliant ruby red in colour, with a fresh, cherryish aromas and hints of wild herbs. Made from Corvina Veronese (60%), Rondinella (35%) and Molinara grapes (5%). Although best drunk young, to enjoy its aromatic quality to the full, it will age for 2 - 3 years.
Enjoy With: Perfect for a Holiday Party it matches well with antipasti. Also a classic match with pasta in a simple tomato sauce.
Dry / Sweet: Dry red wine.
Terroir / Region: In the heart of the Veneto region of Northern Italy, this vineyard is in the hills of the Valpolicella Classico area. at 180 - 280 m above sea level. Vineyards have a South-eastern exposure with varied soils, but mostly clay and chalk.
Producer: Founded in the 16th century, the Allegrini family was one of the largest land owners in the region. Grape growing and Winemaking were passed down as a key family endeavour. Recent Generations have focused on quality and this focus shows in the wines. The Allegrini family are extremely proud to belong to the land of Valpolicella.
