2007 René Barbier Blanco Seco Classic

Tasting Note: This wine has it all: a bright and appealing palate, balanced acidy through the complex, unoaked fruit of ripe Granny Smith apples with full fruity notes of citrus and banana. Not to mention one of the best-priced wines on the market for its value!

Enjoy With:   Just as the Spaniards do, enjoy this wine as an aperitif, with fresh seafood or a light pasta dish.

Dry / Sweet: Dry, white wine.

Terroir / Region: Tucked between the coastal hills of Catalonia, southwest of Barcelona, you’ll find the region of Penedès, best known for its white grape varieties and exquisite Spanish Cava. All grapes used for this wine are hand-picked between September and October.

Producer: More than a century ago, Léon Barbier, the son of vineyard proprietors in the region of Avignon, applied his knowledge of French winemaking traditions to the rich soil and climate of Catalonia. Also known for supreme-quality red, white and rosé wines, the Barbier’s winemaking traditions have put their famous Cabernet and Chardonnay wines on the international wine map for white lovers everywhere.

Availability: Widely available through LCBO General List.
