Terroir / Region:
Deep in the heart of the Barossa wine region are Peter Lehmann’s mature Grenache vineyards. He chooses to use Grenache only from old, dry grown, low yielding bush vines. Their tiny bunches produce the delicious soft berry fruit and balancing acidity that are highly prized in this region.
Producer: Peter Lehmann, who built his winery in 1979, is a legend in the Australian wine industry. He is known, with affection and respect, as the "Baron of the Barossa". When once asked why the Barossa could make so many different wines, Peter Lehmann replied, “Because we can!” - a testament to the Barossa’s viticultural heritage, its ability to excel across a variety of wines and its reputation as Australia’s greatest winemaking region.
