Terroir / Region:
Since the first grapevine was planted at Sydney Cove in 1788, the wine industry in New South Wales has flourished. De Bortoli has expanded into some of Australia’s best known wine regions across Victoria and New South Wales including the Yarra, King and Hunter Valleys from its original base in Bilbul, in the Riverina region of southern New South Wales.
Producer: De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo. Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core to this day. They have a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends.
