Tasting Note: In typical Barossa style, this wine shows both power and refinement. Rich and vivacious, it starts off seductively earthy then turns to glorious crushed berries, chocolate and hints of plum and vanilla. Elegant, poised and velvety on the palate, there's enough flesh and concentration here to reward a couple of years in the cellar.

Terroir / Region: The Friends Shiraz is sourced from the Eden Valley area of Barossa, which is very different from the rest of Barossa: the climate is cooler and the soils have a high mineral content. The wines are elegantly structured with fresh acidity and delicate aromatic character.
Producer: Elderton is a small, family-run estate based in historic Barossa. Their Friends label was developed to highlight the unique character of the Eden Valley in contrast with the estate wines that are produced from fruit grown on the Barossa Valley floor. It took many years to develop relationships with the many small growers they contract with, but now they truly feel that these wines are sourced from their friends' vineyards.
