2009 Santa Julia Malbec Rosé Organica, Argentina

$12.95

Get a jump on spring with our first rosé release of the year. The Santa Julia Malbec Rosé is made from 100% organically grown malbec grapes, whose skins stay in contact with the juice just long enough to make this wine the perfect shade of pink.

Tasting Note: This pink beauty is all about berries, berries, and more berries. Crafted in a fruit-forward style, it's overflowing with strawberry, raspberry and blackberry aromas and flavours. Lush and unctuous, yet fresh and delicate on the palate, it strikes the perfect balance between fruity ripeness and acidity.

Enjoy With: Give it a whirl with your favourite chicken or fish dish, or a salad with — you guessed it — sliced strawberries.

Style: Dry, medium-bodied rosé wine.

Terroir / Region: Located on the slopes of the Andes, Mendoza is a grape-growing paradise. Intensely sunny days and very cool nights produce fruit of remarkable purity and distinction. Grapes for the Organico Malbec Rosé are sourced from two Mendoza sub-regions: Maipú, in the heart of the region, and Santa Rosa, a warm, desert locale 85 kilometres to the east.

Producer: Familia Zuccardi is well-known in Ontario for its wildly popular Fuzion line. Third-generation and family-owned, Zuccardi is committed to using as much manpower and as little machinery in the vineyards as possible. A signature brand developed in the 1990s, Santa Julia reflects Zuccardi’s progressive approach to grape-growing and wine-making. With its reputation for constant innovation and a focus on high quality, the line takes its name from director José Alberto Zuccardi's only daughter.

Availability: 1200 cases were released Saturday, March 20 in Vintages. Look for it in the rosé section.
